Our Goals

CCRC was established in 2017. Our main goal is to provide financial resources and support to persons with cancer going through active treatment.

Angela Ballard

Ms. Cousar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and is an Oncology Certified Nurse at the Washington Cancer Institute of the Washington Hospital Center located in Washington DC.  Ms. Cousar has been a member of the Oncology Nursing Society for Twenty-seven (27) years and has conducted seminars across the country on cancer awareness with the American Cancer Society and others.  She volunteers regularly in community outreach programs and retreats for those who have been touched by cancer. She serves as an advocate for the uninsured and under-served oncology population. Along with many awards and recognition during her years of service, Ms. Cousar also has assisted with coordinating the annual health fair and Breast Cancer Survivor Spa Day at the Family Life Center of the Greater Mt Calvary Holy Church in Washington DC and established their cancer support ministry.

Ms. Ballard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science.  In 2019 she received her License in Massage Therapy (LMT) and is pursuing a career focused on health, wellness and medical massage.  Ms. Ballard has clinical research experience in the field of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome research, Cancer Research, Infectious disease studies as well as Rehabilitation, and Microbial studies.  In addition, Ms. Ballard has gained this experience through various positions with the Ehlers-Danlos Society, The University of Maryland Cancer Center, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). She has additional experience in developing application preparation and submission protocols for studies focused on the development of HIV vaccine therapies and maintained all important documents associated with the research and subsequent clinical trials.

Barbara Grant-Proctor

Mrs. Barbara Grant-Proctor is a Project Management professional with over thirty (30) years of project management experience. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Media, an MBA in International Finance, and holds a Masters Certification in Project Management.  As one of the Back Office lead technical Project Managers for the initial rollout of the Nationwide Verizon Long-distance project, Mrs. Grant-Proctor has over fifteen (15) years of project management experience at the national level and has been solely responsible for projects in excess of $15M. She also co-founded Grant and Leach Financial Services Mortgage Company where she originated home mortgages. Mrs. Grant-Proctor has taught ROTC students financial fundamentals as well as taught high school students financial literacy in the public school system. She was the founder and CEO of a certified MBE/WBE Construction Company, ProVision Construction LLC., based in Maryland.  During Covid, Mrs. Grant-Proctor worked with the Small Business Administration  helping with the processing of PPP loans for U.S small businesses. Currently, Mrs. Grant-Proctor is doing what she loves best, helping with the non-profit organization and working for The Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Climate Retrofit program.
